Imani Jones has spent years building a life that doesn’t include Davian Bivins.

That arrangement works just fine until Davian, a Hollywood star with one foot in the family business and the other in front of a camera, returns to their hometown looking for somewhere to disappear after a very public breakup. The only private place he can find happens to be the attic apartment directly above Imani’s family creamery.

They were once inseparable. Then Davian left for Los Angeles, stopped calling, and stayed gone long enough for friendship to turn into something neither of them knows what to call.

Now he’s upstairs. She’s downstairs. And somehow the man Imani wants nowhere near her business keeps ending up behind the counter, carrying milk, scooping ice cream, irritating her customers, and becoming useful enough that asking him to leave gets harder every day.

But Jones House is fighting to survive, Davian’s family has business interests of its own in Prosper, and the reasons their friendship fell apart were never as simple as either of them believed.

Between small-town gossip, family interference, old hurt, corporate pressure, and chemistry that refuses to be ignored, Imani and Davian have to figure out whether their relationship deserves a second chance.

Because after everything that happened between them, being friends might be the one thing they can’t go back to.
